Madison Scott |
Madison and a female friend went to Hogsback Lake with the intention the girls would both camp out together overnight, along with some others friends. The party was originally going to be a small group of friends, but it appears there were around 150 people ended up at the party Friday night.
Most of the people there were from 18-25, there were even a few much older party goers in their 40's hanging out at a high school party. Almost everyone at the party that night was from the Vanderhoof area. Madison's friend who was suppose to stay overnight in the tent with her left the party with her boyfriend sometime between 12-2:30 a.m. which to me seems like a vague answer. You're in high school and you don't know if you left at midnight or 2:30 a.m. Just seems strange to me. So Madison was left with a dwindling crowd of older people she didn't know. She was left there with her tent to camp alone. I'm sure if there was a predator there that night he would have noticed this, and waited for the others to leave. The last person who reported seeing Madison there at the campsite saw her when they were leaving around 3 a.m.
A couple of the partiers went back to the campsite the next morning and according to them they saw her tent still standing and her truck was there with some of her belongings in the seat, but Madison was gone. They said they did not check to see if she was in the tent. I found this strange also, but it was early morning they were cleaning up so maybe they didn't want to bother her. They gave no explanation why they came back so early, but the two friends who came that morning were the girl who was suppose to stay with her and another friend. So if she knew Madison was suppose to be there and saw her truck and the tent, why wouldn't she check inside the tent??? This makes no sense at all. I get going out there early she probably felt guilty ditching her friend for a guy. We've all had that friend. But not to check on her makes no sense. Her parents checked the site latered and found her tent flattened but no cell phone or sign of Madison. No suspects have ever been named and no further evidence or information has ever been found.
